Event Horizon

spiraling and spinning with the accretion disk
I surfed along the plasma waves,
skirting the edge for far too long
I hadn’t noticed the pull was headstrong.
by the time my Pen rose to chart the course
it was already too late – i filled with remorse.

now scrambling, i was readying to lunge,
but my careless attempts only hastened my inward plunge.
slipping deeper into the well
i was entering a self-spun spell;
frenzied thoughts scattered at lightspeed
but now not even they could be freed.

i’ve darted the quasars,
felt the rush of the pulsars,
was ablaze like the sun,
but now collapse with the force of a trillion megaton,
faltering as a dying star
leaving the cosmos with yet another scar.

formerly i enjoyed a horizon spotted with a soft sunset
but my new horizon would be a universal silhouette,
its force crushing and its claustrophobic boundaries beset,
i became no more than momentum’s marionette.

my whole compressed into a Singularity,
i am bound into my new regularity,
held in captivity
by nature’s relativity,
here to forever stay in doomsday -
at least until I decay.

Defined by collapse,
it won’t be long before my relapse,
as the space around tightly wraps,
i await for time to elapse.
